How the fuck does it make sense to use a birth country based system to decide which queue an applicant should wait in? What if someone is born in India, then immigrate immediately to another country and grow up there? In that case, this person has nothing to do with India most of his life, but why does he still need to wait for 100 years to get his US GC? It makes no fucking sense at all, is this best what USCIS can come up with? This is modern racism and discrimination.
These arguments can’t be seen by anyone important. But again this app is called ‘Blind’ 😆
It prevents people from venue shopping just to get in the country. It isn’t racist, as it applies to all races born in a country equally.
Doesn't make it count any less towards discrimination.
Never said it was. The intent of the law was to discriminate on the basis of nation of origin.
Maybe to prevent individuals from buying citizenships from random countries as a means of expediting their immigration to the US ? Not much incentive for anyone in the government to open up pathway to citizenship for alien residents.
Fuhgghedaboutit
Here we go again.
Born in India, grew up in UK almost all my life, went to undergrad and grad school at Stanford. I won’t get GC and I don’t have H-1B yet. So? The country’s immigration system is flawed. They’d rather accept illegal immigrants than legal immigrants.
Wrong logical implication Standford boy. They'd rather accept illegal immigrants than legal Indian immigrants. Why? Maybe because Bay Area already looks like small India? Think about that
You really don’t have a logic then Synopsys boy. Out of 300M US population according to 2015 Census, 48M from Germany and 20M+ from countries like Iran, Italy, France etc, EACH. Guess what? Indians in US are about 3.3M and Chinese about 3.8M. So you are just saying Bay Area represents the whole US? Get your logic straight. Not arguing that Bay Area doesn’t have many Indians. They do. But the system is flawed.
Posts like these keep coming again and again
Don’t worry. If the 20k per h1b application fee comes into effect, the gc queue would clear up pretty fast even for Indian born
Not gonna happen I tell you. No reform will happen in the GC system, not even a faster queue for people making say over 200k
You are just being selfish.
If you’re not, you should put yourself into Indian born people’s shoes.
🇨🇳, right?
