If you’re Indian, you’ll be treated like a second class citizen so be prepared. https://youtu.be/Ox4YS6g9ACk

No surprises in that.

Yes, Koreans are one of the most racist people on earth.

As Korean, i agree

Interesting.. look up zainichi. Now, why do they do this to others?

eBay suprDeluxe Apr 8, 2019

Because they're dickheads.. duhh

Don’t do it. I really, really mean it. You haven’t seen or heard of a glass ceiling as thick as the one you are going to hit - makes being a person of color in USA a walk in the park

Thanks guys. This is very helpful. I will drop the interviewing now. Don’t want to suffer.

Good call!

Make sure you tell them why.

Does Coupang have access to this section? I've never seen them post here... Why don't you try asking the question in topics? If you want to hear from Coupang ppl that is...

Apple toooooo Apr 8, 2019

I believe Korean companies are sectioned off separately.

Nopes

As a foreigner, you’ll be treated differently than a Korean.. and that’s a good thing—You get to leave work on time 😂

I interviewed with them before and I went through couple of screenings with the recruiter and my questions about work life balance and supporting teams in different time zones made them feel like I won’t be a good fit. So, be ready to work at all odd hours. :)

As an Indian working for Coupang, I'd say stay away. It's a toxic culture. Every decision is top down. All the managers will screw you, Indian, Korean, American and Chinese.

Flipkart QMbz54 OP Apr 9, 2019

Thanks man. I will stay put at flipkart.

I have been there about 4 years as an American expat (technical role). it's been a pretty amazing experience if you can keep up with the pace. I don't agree with the comments about work life balance - most of the expats (self included) work 40-50 hours typically. you're shielded from the Korean work life balance stereotype (which is very real if you're Korean). Sorry to hear that you dropped your interview, that seems misguided. why not see what they have to say?

Coupang jjjjii Apr 8, 2019

Technical role, so are you a developer, first line manager or director and above? I don't see any American expats who are ICs.

Coupang XoOS66 Apr 8, 2019

IC. I can't give more detail without doxxing myself :) there are not many Coupang blind users edit: well sort of. it's complicated.
