Cracking the Netflix interview

I have 1.5 years of experience. Currently at MTS level in Salesforce. How can I prepare for a SWE role at Netflix? I am targetting in next couple of years.

A job doing what? If SWE, you're going to have to be more patient, as they only hire senior SWEs.

Did you get an interview though?

Salesforce yfsgisj472 OP Jul 27, 2019

Not yet. But I want to target within 2 years.

Man, wish I had your kind of dedication

Mts level is meaningless

Netflix only hires senior software engineers. You might have a chance in another 3-4 years. Interviews are team specific so the best way to prepare is to be a pro at whatever the specific team you’re applying to is doing.

We need atleast 4-5 yrs of exp before inviting you for interview. Also, we don’t judge you if you don’t know leetcode solutions. So better make sure you understand the basics of what you do and can make a sound judgement while deciding “how” to solve the problem. Think a lot about good design and optimization in your every day job, you will eventually be ready for the interview.

It depends on what you want to do at Netflix. Hiring is team specific so if you like a specific position, you should have skill set and experience relevant to that role. With that said, don’t limit your career progression just because you want to fit into how a company looks like today. Learn and implement distributed systems at scale and you should be fine for Netflix and other companies Also what lNke12 said

Agree with what others said. You have to find a job description where you are a really strong fit. Make sure you really are a domain expert for the skillset of the position. Moreover, make sure your system design skills are sharp. Being just a master of leetcode wont get you much far in the loop.
