Credit Karma Director Comp
What’s expected TC and comp structure for a Director in Engineering at Credit Karma? Interviewing with them soon and would like to see if TC expectations are aligned. #cybersecurity #interview
Are you in Charlotte or CA? Directors are high salary but no annual bonus (that’s only for sd+vp levels). Salary in CA would be north of 305k (I have non eng comp data points but directors are at about 307-310k base in the orgs I know, would expect eng to be slightly higher— all salaries are aligned for every role/level, there are no bands). Not sure how much lower the directors in Charlotte are paid but generally there is less salary adjustment there than I would expect. RSU signal is more limited. Pre acquisition directors have comp in excess of 1m now, but that’s due to doubling valuation upon acquisition and crazy intuit performance since then. The prior rsu packages pre acquisition projected a total comp around 700-750k for directors so I’d imagine they still aim for somewhere in that range (again, in California…apply a discount if in Charlotte). Agreed, this sounds about right. I also don’t know about Charlotte though.
Spoke to the recruiter today. Role is a Director on their Information Security team. Apparently, all their Directors have the same comp structure - $325K base + $164,500 RSUs for a total of $489,750. Thinking now that I won’t move forward with the interview process.
