Credit Suisse Frankfurt

Was offered a IB VP1 role with Credit Suisse in Frankfurt and hoping someone on Blind has experience with the team / company in Europe. My network extends only to NA/London so anything would be helpful (looking for unbiased opinions on post-GS13 culture, deal flow, even lifestyle topics like living in Germany would be appreciated). I know corporately they are in a rough patch. Offer TC = 300-350K USD (+cash out all my unvested RSUs), ~90/10 cash/stock. Comp is standard and European markets pay less vs NA (i.e. NYC TC for the same role is 500K USD) but I'm evaluating it as part of a push to move internationally so there are other factors. Current TC = 250k USD #ib #sellside #creditsuisse

Credit Suisse VP 500k in US? I am not sure how true that is

Yea I don't buy it.

I wont be on my way out if VPs would get even 250k lol. OP is this tech or Business?

I've got colleagues who are in the front office and in a good year they could pull 250k as a VP with maybe similar YOE but if you're in tech, there's no way VPs in the US have a TC of 500k. Seems like you're over generalizing salaries in general being higher in the US (which is largely true)

No way that a NYC VP has a TC of 250k on the front office side. My comp when I was an associate 1 at a similar tier bank, non-NYC was >300k. Also note the VP 1 offer I got above in Europe is in a similar range (and market rate - check out the arkesden comp report for London).

I would probably take it. CS IB had a great year but I think most banks had a great year in general. CS also has a very good reputation globally but specifically in Europe.
