Lately, I have been seeing a lot of cringe on LinkedIn (India) 1. "Incoming SDE Interns" imparting wisdom about failures and life lessons 2. FAANG+ freshers making YouTube videos of success stories 3. College students writing shit articles about finance and tech industry 4. Some seniors in FAANG+ trying to build a cult of teir 3 college followers The content is almost always shitty, but the following and response is incredible. Their posts and videos get thousands of likes and views. Is the software industry filled with so many simpletons that actually find their content worth something good? What have we come to? FAANG is the new IIT. Remember the XXXL billboards with mugshots of nerds showing victory sign on getting IIT ranks? Same people, different shit. It's usually quite late when they realise it's not worth the attention they give.
That's good analogy
Always remember these lines: Imagine how stupid an average person is, now imagine half of the people are stupider than that

People all over the internet are cringe. Why do you expect anything different on LinkedIn
it's Indian job to make these social media platforms cringe.. fb, Twitter, quora now LinkedIn
Blind
Twitch is also going in same direction as Quora. All the horny idiots first filled quora with it and now filling twitch too.
we have social media influencers profiting from people. now we have software engineer influencers
Naming and shaming, don't give a f*ck if this gets flagged:- 1) Sahil Srivastava : https://www.linkedin.com/in/sahilsrivastava25/, first of all, very bad selfie. Second of all, support engineer intern at MSFT (have nothing against support engineers but....). Gyan level: Satya Nadella, he himself has done 600+ leet code questions but couldn't clear OA of any company. (both confessions in different posts). 2) Shalini Negi :- https://www.linkedin.com/in/shalini-negi-9238791a7/ , good DP. But, meh!! fake HR posts, cooks up a story or copies one and posts them periodically. 3) Love Babbar :- https://www.linkedin.com/in/love-babbar-38ab2887/, have nothing against him, but only 1-2 yrs into industry and speaks like he is in different part of universe. Gyan level :- Dhattarwal 4) Anshika Gupta :- https://www.linkedin.com/in/anshikagpt/, claims to have cracked Amazon by "Hardowrk" despite being from tier 3 college, but, she got here through diversity hiring event, WOW and we all know the interview bar for diversity hires. She herself told all interviews questions were already known to her except one. So it's not hardowork, but luck, period. Gyan level :- Messiah of tier 3 students, looks like she is suffering from imposter sydrome seeing many posts/videos on this topic.
And half of these so called influencers are Amazon L4's :p

Why don't you hire a few of these kids and feed them into the pip train to humble them down a little?
Sadly enough, they are almost always from Amazon
Yup. Our org is overhiring L4 and L5 kids in India to meet our annual URA goals.. My skip and director are having troubles when we have to pip someone on visa here in the US because nobody likes to deport someone. It's easier to pip someone in India without accumulating any bad karma..
