Currently interviewing and was able to get an offer from Crowdstrike for a hybrid role. L5 SDE at Amazon, joined ~3.5 years back as a L5. Promo is not in sight and the work has turned pretty boring since past year, with deploying the same services into different regions and a substantial(but not unbearable) on-call load. Learnt a ton during the first couple of years however definitely feels like this is the right time for me to move out. Fudging up the numbers below to avoid getting doxxed 2024 projected TC: ~250k Offer TC(after negotiation): 280-290k(Base+bonus+rsu) YOE - 5+ Had a pleasant interview experience where everyone seemed nice(but then again, had a pretty decent interview experience with Amazon as well back in 2020), and I am pretty happy with the offer, but would like to know the current culture within Crowdstrike. Could someone from Crowdstrike chime in on how it is like there? I know it is team dependent but just wanted to gauge an overall opinion on the company. #crowdstrike #amazon #swe #tech #offer
Crowdstrike stock has more potential upside than amazon
It’s a great company, culture and engineering problems. Leadership has solid vision. Ofcourse there are some teams in platform I wouldn’t join. But majority of the company is a joy to be at.
Which one are the teams that you wouldn't recommend joining?
What do you think of the data science org? Thinking of joining as a data engineer there
Not bad for se3. That's a Google L4 equivalent position btw. The next level is senior. Culture is alright, there's comparitively less drinking the kool aid than other companies, tech is very good. The downsides are poor benefits and average comp.
Great to hear that tech is very good, how is the wlb as a swe for you? Don’t really care about the benefits much, I’m in Amazon so benefits can’t be worse than here. One thing I like is that Crowdstrike has espp with 2 year lookback(no espp in Amazon)
Onboarding will be a bit hectic, because everybody is remote it's relatively hard to get a hold on someone. Every team is different but most teams are alright, although you always have a couple of folks in every team who operate in cult mode.
Can you share what the interview was like? Interviewing soon
Straightforward - 1hr mgr round with a bug finding session(code was already there just had to find bugs and debug it) - 2 coding rounds, 1hr each(questions were not hard maybe LC easy/medium, but presented in an ambiguous way) - 90 min design round(this went in depth, but interviewer was extremely friendly and easy going). This should be pretty okay for you if you have been working in amazon for sometime
Thanks - did you interview for SE3 or was it unclear and leveling was decided after interview?
Can you share what the interviews were like and the questions asked during the coding round? What are the main things to consider in each round? Thanks in advance!
Added the interview structure in a comment below. Can’t reveal the exact coding questions but they were from queues, arrays, trees and strings. I have heard that interviews are team specific
What's offered TC at Crowdstrike and whats the level?
SE3, offer and current tc in the post
Great offer man TC seems high for the level. I would highly recommend joining CRWD for the niche that it offers in cybersecurity vs staying at Amazon
