Crowdstrike offer

#engineering #software #swe Hi blind, I recently was extended an offer via email from a crowdstrike technical recruiter for a swe1 role and we had a call to discuss "next steps" earlier today which happens to be a day before the holidays. The recruiter wanted to guage my interest in the company before even disclosing the numbers or terms and she mentioned that it was because "they didn't like to disclose their terms and have it floating around for more than a week". I let her know that I couldn't give a good answer to her question regarding my interest without having the numbers and I also mentioned that I had a competing offer from another company that needed my answer by mid next week. She let me know that she could get some numbers by Monday and let me know so I could gauge but it doesn't seem like I'll get the written offer until I give an okay to her with the numbers already. This raises some weird flags to me. It makes me think that if I agree to crowdstrike I'll have little room to negotiate after the written offer and there are other challenges w this situation as well. Just wanted to see if anyone on here had a similar experience with recruiting at crowdstrike or any other company. I do think the recruiter might also just not want to draft an offer if not necessary and it's also a day before the holidays so work morale is probably low.

That sounds a bit weird. Hopefully you can come back and update us?

Avoid CRWD if you can unless we pay you really good. From what you’ve posted, it seems like you’ll be lowballed. More details will help: location, yoe, offered tc, competing tc

I have about 1 yr exp and am located in the Seattle area. I gave the recruiter a range I was expecting and it seemed like she wasn't willing to work with that number

From my experience they'll lowball and I've been hearing candidates get their offer revoked after trying to negotiate or presenting a competing offer. Just be careful...

Accepting Verbal offer is pretty standard before being extended a written offer, I've accepted a verbal offer and negotiated after.
