What is the culture like at Snowflake, Databricks, and Splunk? Curious what it is like working at this type of company. I have mostly thought about and considered the App startups and consumer electronics companies but these data companies seem to do really well and pay really well these days. Also if you currently work in one of these or a similar company, what made you interested in the company?
Snowflake is VERY result driven. It’s a great company but not a place you can cruise. Very strong C suite. It’s a good place but expect to put in a lot of hard work.
I like it
Work visa
Splunk culture very hit or miss. Lots of people do no work at all. Corporate direction and strategy is very confused. Relaxed, but there are a few assholes

It's a fuck ton better than AWS was overall, but I do miss a lot of the professionalism in processes we had there. That said, this complaint is common for pretty much all the almuni I still talk to, so I don't think its splunk specific. I will say there's a lot of opportunities for some cool stuff to be done, and the ball is going in that direction, but there's a bunch of questions around how leadership will execute strategy imho.
Shit culture at Splunk for sure.
I worked at Splunk and depends on which area. Sales Engineering was great in my experience. People always willing to help and work together. Pay and perks were very good. As an IC i stayed focused on my customers and making my number. I have heard that there was a lot of drama in management but never knew what it was. Didn’t really care since most of the stuff they did or came up with was bs anyway. About the worst part of the job joining one of the many “all hands” calls or some executive “ask me anything” call. Such a waste of time
Databricks’ culture is a blend of stressed out egomaniacs mixed with really nice, smart, humble people who are overworked
I just stared in sales at Snowflake. Initial impression is it is the best culture I’ve ever worked in. People are very relationship focused both internally and externally and willing to help.
Will start soon at snowflake sales, any tips?
What role, can I ask?
