Can anyone comment on the company culture at dutchie? I know they had some turmoil over the last year, with layoffs and co-founders pushed outc despite some large recent raises. Glassdoor shows many critical reviews, I’m guessing many from those who were laid off. For anyone who’s still at dutchie, how’s the company culture, morale, comp, wlb?

How many real estate do you own
Low morale for sure right now. Pay was excellent when money was free and you knew how to negotiate, not sure now. I was laid off last year. Most of the critical reviews are accurate.
Thanks for the response. Aside from layoffs have a lot of people voluntarily left?
Significant amount of leadership that joined in 2020/early 21 has voluntarily (or involuntarily) left. Critical reviews are accurate.
Bad, save yourself the trouble
Agree, it’s not great. Leadership certainly hasn’t been good. There are some great people here, just not in positions to make meaningful change.
Wolf in sheep’s clothing
Culture needs work, but feels like the right people are in place to make this happen. We’ll be dominating 2024 from a Product perspective - some features coming that are critical impact for our customers. Ive been here for a couple years and still love it. We just spent a bunch of money on unnecessary BS which led to changeover in leadership. Adults are running the company and it feels good.
Here’s the thing about dutchie… We raised A LOT of capital in 2021. Like almost $700m, with the last raise being $375m in October 2022. We were flush with cash. The vibe was vibing. We were looking to innovate and elevate the weed technology world. An IPO was in sight and we were all gonna ride off into a cloud of smoke. June 2022, 10% layoff, December 2022 12% layoff and founders ousted, silent layoffs to follow, projects canceled, and all attention shifts to our acquired and redesigned point of sale system…which is kind of a complicated dinosaur. Lots of legal and market uncertainties continuously raise fear and doubt about the viability of our business and job security. It evolves into a tense environment where the engineering work isn’t super fun and the processes feel shaky at best. But adults are holding the reins now, and it feels like they’re steering in the right direction. So you could maybe understand how people would say “man this went south”…because it did. Reality hit. That doesn’t mean it’s all bad…it’s just a rude awakening from the ideal it started out as. It’s a good engineering org. The people there rock and are really smart. The “weed” culture is great. If you’re looking to shake it up from your standard corporate vibe, come to dutchie and pass it ‘pon the left hand side.
You need to be good at passing it ‘pon the left hand side or you definitely will get piped.
Not to be confused with PIP’d…they will shove a weed pipe in your face. Source: happened to me
