Just saw an ad on YouTube TV for Uber - a “feel good about using Uber again because we are changing” ad. From the inside: is anything changing about Uber’s toxic culture and leadership?
I will be curious as I am waiting to hear back after final onsite interview for a non technical role in SF. Does Uber really have a toxic culture? In what way, can u explain??
It’s changed. A lot of emphasis on sustainable growth vs “red lining”, collaboration vs “toe stepping”.
+1 good WLB
Lol - Uber will suck forever
It's ok. Better wlb. Some closet assholes but not nearly as bad.
I believe it has changed. With tens of thousands of worldwide employees there will be bad apples, but I feel that it has gotten much better since beginning of 2017
It surprises me how many people gloss over the full saying about “a few bad apples”
I don’t think it was everyone but it’s a big problem when your few bad apples included senior leadership
Sometimes I think WLB is too good. But yes WLB is good.
I talked to someone from Uber last night - they like "dko" but they continue to specialize in "brilliant jerks"
You need to do a little more research if you are asking this question after the last week
Well if firing an exec that was loved by a good amount of the company because she didn't take some racial discrimination seriously doesn't say anything idk what will. It used to be that things would be swept under the rug or folks were protected.
Are there details about this?
Yes, all over the news. Liane Hornsey our high profile head of HR was fired for systemically ignoring complaints about unlawful racial discrimination and for also making derogatory remarks about black coworkers. This, from the head of hr mind you.
I mean the fact that they have to advertise about it says galore.. wolf with sheep's clothing, things never change.
