Confused about the valuation, I have an offer which prices the stock @195 but that was before the drop in valuation. I don’t have a written offer yet and recruiter is not sharing the valuation (I legitimately think that person is clueless and a novice recruiter) so wanted to confirm if there is a recalculation on the stock price after news drop and should I renegotiate.
Higher than Meta , interesting 🧐
Is the stock prices in your contract? If so then no there is no recalculation when you join. Your contract will be specific about how and when the calculation is made.
There won't be a calculation, your contract grants you a set number of shares rather than X dollars in shares to be calculated at a later date.
Get more cash. No one is sure about actual valuation
Lol it’s not at the same value over a year ago. Take a higher cash comp.
They're gonna give you $195 per stock, which frankly is a bad deal. But given that company is private, they technically go off the evaluation from last investment round, which is insulated from current market. They can lower valuation internally, but that'll be taking an L unnecessarily. So you're gonna get a bad deal no matter what.
For me it’s hard to believe if they finally get over 100b evaluation
For a company whose revenue was $58b last year? That was too little even if they can only ipo in HK
Past were valued $180 share at $250b… but $100b rumored drop in valuation recently from $400 to $300b
300b from 400b as per recent article so 195*.75
