Customer engineer role at google
Hi! How is the customer engineer role at at google? Would somebody (perhaps from the same team) be able to shed some light on what the role entails and perhaps guide me in right direction to get a call for the role ? I am a solutions engineer at salesforce and would really appreciate if anybody can offer their 2 cents and help me out here, and if I get selected, I promise to take you out on a nice dinner accompanied with some good laughter. Do you have to be super familiar with their cloud products to get the job?
How are the interviews like? How's the TC? How do you qualify to get an interview call for a Customer Engineer position?
Customer engineers are strategic cloud engineers. You need to be in any one cloud not gcp but profecient in any. Better if you have some experience will be easier. Sometimes it involves coding round sometimes its not depending on the requirement at that moment. Recruiter will tell you if you are going to the tech ladder or non tech. TC is good and its one of the best in cloud.

Isn't CEs different from SCEs? Strategic Cloud Engineers are in professional services and much much more technical. CEs are on the sales plan, and it's a pre-sales role.

Customer Engineers are generally responsible for translating user requirements into google or google cloud products. You will be the face who will understand the IT landscape help in deriving technical solutions and guide them through the journey with the team to achieve the goal.
