Job market is brutal for SWEs 🥲
Hi all, I’m interviewing at Riskified currently and am curious about: - Product: Is it a market leader? - Compensation: Recruiter mentioned they have a base, annual bonus, and stock compensation. Any insight into compensation philosophy? - Culture: looks like most of the engineering team is based in Israel. Any insights into the culture?
I’m wondering the same. there wasn’t much riskified info on Blind but some of the reviews on Glassdoor are a bit concerning related to culture and opportunity for advancement. Here’s one example https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Employee-Review-Riskified-RVW31931681.htm Any Riskifiers here that want to comment on the NY office culture (rampant racism? really?), the Hebrew vs English language rift, and perceived favoritism in some of these reviews (which would be an advancement blocker if I don’t have friends there now)?
Initially I'd discount that review as extreme and very emotional. But if you look at other negative reviews on Glassdoor you will see a consistent pattern. You will also see a pattern when looking at positive reviews, and I must say it is quite suspect. Suggest only consider a place like that if there's a tenured long-time friend or former colleague employed there that you trust. With wildly polarizing reviews like that on Glassdoor, there's a strong chance that Riskified is not what it seems on the surface unless someone inside could prove it to you otherwise.
Compensation depends on department and your impact I'm assuming. Revenue org has different comp structure. Culture is fantastic. WLB is a dream. No micro management, great people, insanely smart and willing to find solutions to any problem.
Thanks for the input. Is most of the product team based in Tel Aviv?
Most of the product team is in Israel, but certainly not all. US office houses most of the executive team so high visibility here.
