Would you use self-driving if it was available?
Do you think the drone industry is going to crash just like the .com boom?? @dji @amazon @google @dronedeploy @Boeing @uber
Lol, for real? It is in no way as bad as the dot com bubble.
Everyone in silicon valley is jumping in on it and I've seen so many of them fail. It's really sad!
Drones have significant valuable applications for many industries, so no.
It’s not a bubble, there ought to be some investment for a technology to evolve
Finally got around to looking at blind and looked up my own company, so sorry if I’m late / biased. I’d argue drones really haven’t taken off in a corporate applications. It is definitely filled in the hobbies area though. Until we see Drone-In-A-Box / indoor capable drones we haven’t really gotten to a huge usability and as a result a large sector of applications of drones is unused. Any (software startup) company trying to get a foot in the door is pretty much just hoping that the hardware market will advance at just the right point where they’ll be the ones being able to scale. This is pretty much what happened with Airware, ironically we occupy the building they used to be in. Hardware drone startups is a beast in it’s own right. Look out for Skydio! They’re supposed to be the new thing.
I assume you’re working at dronedeploy because you believe in the industry?
Military applications of drones is only going to make the industry larger and hugely inflate demand.
