DBX IC3 vs Google L5
I am contemplating b/w these 2 offers: DBX IC3 vs Goog L5. Live in South Bay, moving is not an option. Money is almost the same. DBX seems to have better work for future perspective. Goog seems to offer a much better WLB specially with the commute. (Possibility of moving teams after a year?) Thoughts? YOE: 5.5 Current TC: 250
Google L5 with 5 yoe? Take it and run. Although your TC seems really low
For L5: I was adamant and was willing to talk away. For the low TC: was genuinely low balled. Not too many growth opportunities as well.
Interesting, I was given 4 at dbx and 5 at g.

DBX has many eng teams in MTV. Even your team is in SF, it should be possible to work from MTV a few days every week.
I know of the no meeting(wfh) Wednesdays. I am discussing this with the recruiter as well.
I def know of engineers who work from MTV a couple days of the week. They’re trying to attract talent in the South Bay. Also, NMW is a thing for some teams, and not for others, so be sure to ask specifically. What’s the range of comp they’re offering? Also, which team are you interviewing for?

That's weird. I had an offer from Google for L4 - 305 TC, I have more in DBX on IC3. L5 is more like IC4 in DBX. DBX has a nice office in Mt View. There is much more chance to do something interesting in DBX, but Google is nice, too. I'd personally go with Google, IC3 isn't terminal level in Dropbox, so you will need to get promotion which isn't that easy.
With DBX, commute may become harder & eventually affect your interest on the work. What are the chances of finding a team similar to DBX in G?
I agree. I was hoping some G folks would comment on the team changing aspect. I know from my friends, the minimum time to stay before moving around is 1 year.
Go to Google. Google is a net better gig.
