It goes without saying that those working at FAANG/MAANG companies and/or SWE have awesome TCs. I've been in defense contracting in the government side for most of my career, which has stunted my TC. I'm actively looking right now at other opportunities so I can get a nice boost. So far: - Google rejected me for a PM role after I finished the entire interview process, told me to reapply in 1 year. - Burns and McDonnell rejected me because I don't want to travel 50-70% - Accenture has held two interviews with me, seems like it may work out. My TC would jump to at least 180k, I'd get into the private side of the house, and I'd be part of their sub division for cyber solutions/advisory services. As a Cyber professional /consultant without scripting skills, what's a reasonable TC to shoot for? Also, not in the Bay Area. But in USA, in between HCOL and LCOL city. Quickly becoming a HCOL city, but already bought a home. TC: 132k YOE: 13
Depends on the jobs you looking for, what impacts you have had, whether you are in HCOL or LCOL city, etc. without knowing, I would say $150-$190k? Honestly, the Accenture offer sounds to be in range.
I've had a lot of success on the business side (growing work, talent acquisition, BD) and client delivery side (technical PM, PO, etc). I live technically in a locl city, but it's getting more expensive. However, I already bought a house fairly low. Also, I'll be remote for the most part in the new role.
Of you’re in NOVA (based on defense contractor, just guessing) that’s a pretty good salary for non-tech.
In Europe, getting above 100k € is very difficult! I think you are on better side of curve with unlimited opportunities from bay area where your pay can even go beyond 250k easily.
True true. I added another caveat to my post based on your reply. I'm not in the Bay Area, so taking that into consideration as well.
