DEI policies

I see people beating the drum about advocating for DEI in tech and with claims such as East Asians and south Asians aren’t a minority in tech and managers should be penalized for hiring them (IBM leaked video) While this does hold true for engineering What about HR, finance, legal, Product, accounting, advertising, marketing, C suite Where is the advocacy to include Asians in those jobs where they are a minority ? How about some DEI for lawyers, investment bankers, Hollywood ? How about NFL, NBA? Would love to see a bunch of white, Asians and Latin folks Any advocacy for Asians in music or rap ? Y’all wanna get some DEI for doctors and go to a DEI doctor for your critical ailments ? I’m sick and tired of beating up Asians for being a majority in tech or education. These are a few channels that help people to better themselves when people aren’t born in privilege or generational wealth. These weren’t easy jobs and privileged people don’t want these jobs coding in the corner and on call on the weekends. Every community prioritizes different things to better themselves, white folks may focus on people centric jobs, black folks on sports, fashion and entertainment Asians on tech and medicine Penalizing a community or race based on what they focus on doing is racism. If you want to do this do it across all industries and not just tech. I’m all for advocating for diversity but not at the cost of penalizing other people based on race.

Actually I look for native English speaking and female pediatricians and doctors, which seems to be super rare now If DEI would fix that, yes please! After Covid there’s only fobs to choose from Why not make your home country great to live in instead of saturating this one and crying about not being able to replace every other ethnicity completely?
