Eventbrite, shift your business model
I’ve always loved Eventbrite products, but the business doesnt seem to be doing well. Coronavirus hits Eventbrite hard and put the stock price down to $7, because probably, who knows when we all can gather at an event again. But that means, our favorite artist, music, performance community and individuals are hurting too. Eventbrite have you all thought about turning into hosting digital events, help artists, speakers and musicians continued to host a digital channel, continued to inspire people, while also continue to maintain a living? Seems like something Eventbrite could be in a right position to do.
They already support digital-only events, but I think you’re suggesting they provide full stack service for it? That feels way out of scope for them. It’s a much easier pivot for anybody that’s currently doing streaming media. YouTube, Facebook/Instagram, Netflix... iHeart. Twitch. SoundCloud... Even Zoom.
Just want to be bitter and say that eventbrite gave me a lowball offer awhile back because they think that their stock price will be the same as FB share price and told me I should be happy taking the risk and join them. $7 right.

Will people pay for digital only events?
If it’s good event, and involve some sort of social aspect (such as you and your friends can stream together). Went to eventbrite app the other day and feels like nothing is appealing, all random things from random hosts. That’s another issue - some curating or perhaps even targeting should happen.
Plus, none of us are going to any physical events any soon. Digital seems to be only choice for a while
I would be so with this idea. I work with events and entertainment industry a lot in tech and Eventbrite is an amazing resource and the industry is struggling. I would love to see Eventbrite do something about this.
