Here is what I heard and know. Please suggest from your experience considering academics and UC acceptance. Not able to decide which school has good balance. Fremont Mission San Jose - Too stressful/competitive, limited AP courses Fremont Irvington- Very competitive, limited AP courses Milpitas- Not so academically driven, good on course selection and APs San Ramon - Too stressful/competitive, good on course selection and APs Danville - Not so academically driven, ok on course selection Pleasanton - Competitive, good on course selection and APs
Does your child have friends at any of these schools? If so, I would pick that one.
My kid entering 6th grade. Is that early enough to prepare for SAT?
No,too late and your kid is doomed. Glad I could help
AP selection is more important than API scores
Milpitas high is good balance. Not super competitive, easy to get AP courses, has good extra curricular yo blster resume. Also your commute will be less.
https://siliconvalleystories.blogspot.com/2022/07/bay-area-top-100-us-stem-high-schools.html?m=1 this will give you 5 year berkeley admission rates of these schools. Irvington Mission and Dougherty are a league above the others you mentioned
Helicopter asian parents think too much! Your child will excel at all of these schools if he or she is good. And all of these schools are feeders into UCs
Asian parents in Bay Area don’t want their kids to go to UCs. They aim for Ivy
Ivy schools only matter for law and doctors, if the kid wants to be in tech they can even go to San Jose state and still end up with a 200k job out of college.
