DOJ sues Facebook for H1B abuse & H1B rules reversal

H1B visa is on news again. I am so angry and frustrated with government bending knees against companies. FB was sued but nothing will change maybe they’ll be fined and the practice continues. These companies blatantly abuse H1B and other work visas (opt, h4 ead, L1). They favor these guest workers so they can keep wages suppressed and they have been successful. Time and time again any attempts to touch these visas have been struck down by big corp lobbying. How in the world state courts can overrule federal actions. This is just crazy. Now with this new administration funded by big corp there is no chance any common sense work visa reforms will take place in favor of Americans. The root of this evil is lower wages and current administration’s last ditch attempt to fix was thrown out. I feel so sad that nothing will change and these status quo continues. #workvisa #h1b #facebook

State courts can throw injunctions if federal actions violate the law itself. For the kind of things that trump wanted to do, he should have worked with Congress to amend a law. He did not even follow proper EO procedure. Oh n btw, Americans gets the first chance at the job.

Don't worry about it, first save your democracy from your current Commander in Chief.

This is what an unfettered capitalism that the right craves for. The corp is making an efficient use of their capital to make profit. How is that not good?

That’s why we have government. they’re supposed to govern and look out for people and stop abuse by enacting or changing laws.

Move FxiC60 Dec 5, 2020

The market will punish the abusers. No need for a big brother government.

Lol, dude. You’re probably making way less than any of the FB h1b workers, whose wages you’re complaining about 😂 😂 😂

Amazon fj8hy65 Dec 5, 2020

Isn’t that his whole argument? Those jobs wouldn’t go to visa slaves if the system weren’t abused

Uber FWXb37 Dec 5, 2020

Not really his argument. From the post “These companies blatantly abuse H1B and other work visas (opt, h4 ead, L1). They favor these guest workers so they can keep wages suppressed and they have been successful.” He is claiming that FB is suppressing Wages.

Nailed it.

Work hard, crack those Interviews and stop complaining. Even they close H1B they will not settle for crybabies and lightweights.

Cadence Rando911 Dec 5, 2020

What? You missed the point, ofc.

The interview process is highly transparent, people are judged on basis of their skills. An American citizen has million times more opportunities than an H1B workers. Foreign workers are just a soft target because they were born in a poor country and a nativist gets a privilege to criticize them because he/she was a lucky birth.

To be fair, the gov is sueing FB for participation in a gov sponsored program to foster immigration and following the program's rules to the letter. Hypocritical if you ask me. The only way for FB to win would have been not to play.

You work at L’Oréal...TBH you need to crack Facebook to post like this. It make you look like a SJW. Maybe start by taking L’Oréal to court because they pay less than Facebook. That is abuse towards you and other Americans!

Yes 400k tc is a wage suppression. Such suppression much wow

Cadence Rando911 Dec 6, 2020

Look at the revenue though.

Revenue of what? Salaries dont depend on revenue only.

Google jkLy05 Dec 5, 2020

Lol kind of ironic since fb probably pays one of highest among the big h1b sponsors. https://www.myvisajobs.com/Reports/2020-H1B-Visa-Sponsor.aspx That doesn't even include stock. The administration's claim isn't wage suppression. They are claiming these high paying jobs should go to americans instead.
