Bungalow layoffs

This is my first and last post using this "work" account before Blind asks for verification again. Bungalow laid off a good chunk of people across the company in US and in Canada including engineering. The management and the people team have been trying hard: Delivering the news individually and providing assistance to those affected. If you are hiring full stack, backend, front end or test engineers, please reach out to them (and me đŸ™‹â€â™‚ïž)! I may show up here using a different "work" account in the near future. Hopefully, it won't be long! đŸ‘‹đŸŒ TC: đŸ„œ #layoff

Blind won’t ask for verification. You can continue using this account

The verification may be totally random. Blind asked me to verify once by sending a verification link to my work email. Fingers crossed I won't get picked soon!

Your web team definitely needs help. The top link (an ad?) from Google returns a "Page Not Found" error. Page Not Found We're sorry, something went wrong!

This company is going down. They've been operating without a license as a property management company for years. Regulators are coming after them! Business model - two words: unsustainable and unfocused. We change our directions so often. One month it’s something about blockchain then it’s something about a flywheel. If you like buzzwords come join. We have no shortage. - If WeWork is a tech company, we are too. Dear homeowners, our AI/ML pricing model is actually powered by hard coded google sheets. We use comparables by Google searching nearby Craigslist postings! Leadership - Leadership lacks empathy and transparency. During all hands, you’ll get the rosy future outlook and hear about layoffs the next day. No one actually knows the financial conditions and performance of the company. We get wishy washy answers to hard questions like “when are we going to be a legal property manager” and detailed answers on what Andrew and Justin’s favorite thanksgiving appetizers are. - The key to fast track here: blindly follow leadership’s opinions (which by the way are rarely data driven) and have a scapegoat ready to take the blame if something goes wrong. Every weekly business review is actually a weekly witch hunt. Culture - Culture is lack of honesty. Every team has huge operational and technical debt that constantly gets swept under the rug. As I’m writing writing this review, I’m anticipating what responses HR or leadership may give. It’ll probably include something along the lines of “macro economic trends” and “being flexible with the pivots of a startup”. Let’s be real, no one just wakes up one morning and says I need to lay off 40% of my company. Something had to build up to that point. Leadership refuses to take responsibility and blames externalities. It shows that they have little respect for the well being of the employees.
