I need suggestions, in 2nd year of STEM OPT

I'm currently in my 2nd year of STEM OPT, so this is my last shot in the H1B lottery and I've only got about 50% chance of getting picked. I've considered Canada as a backup plan but I currently only have 2 years 3 months of full time work experience, and without atleast 3 years of work ex, my score won't go over the cutoff for express entry invitation. Also, I've read that Canadian companies usually don't consider foreign candidates unless they've already gone through the express entry process already, so getting a job in Canada first to boost my score isn't really an option. I'm currently working in a contract position, Capital One said they'd consider hiring me full time but I doubt they'll move my role to Canada. Would like to avoid going back to India if thats possible, but i don't want to join some bs University for Day 1 CPT, I feel like that's a waste of both money and time. Even if I interview my ass off and get hired by a company thatd be willing to move its employees to Canada, would they even consider hiring me at this point and even if they do would they be willing to move the role for such a recent hire? What do you think? Do I have any other options? Am I fucked? I appreciate any and all suggestions. #workvisa #h1b #expressentry #lotteryh1b #h1blottery #stemopt #career

No you are not fucked. Life is more than just working in the US. Evaluate your options at this point. I will give you some options. 1. Would you like to pursue Pursue PhD from here on? This will give you another shot at your US Dream. 2. If you are fine with another masters then go for Canada. Then see if you can meet the cut off for PR. 3. As a last resort, see if moving to India is an option. Start Ups and small scale product companies are paying decent money. Additionally you can be closer to family. If you have luck on your side you may get your H1B or Capital One may hire you full time and transfer you out to Canada. Regardless keep upping your skills and stay positive

I think Amazon and MS hire ppl on their last year on STEM opt and move them to Canada as an option

Hello fellow last attempt, so far talking to everyone in same situation as me who hasn't gotten h1b lottery, most seem to incline towards day1 CPT and wait it out for Canada pr. Day1 CPT is literally gonna make H1b even harder for everyone now.

I didn't understand your last statement. Could you elaborate?

People who were trying for H1B for 3 times in OPT is now 5 times with CPT. Because of this number of people still trying for h1b increases by a lot every passing year.

Does C1 hire directly one who is on CPT?
