Data Engineer/Big data engineer at Amazon

Hi guys, I have 11 years of IT experience including more than half into Big Data, need your help in understanding the below: What is the process of DE/BDE recruitment in amz? Heard from someone, no DS & Algo required like SDEs, rather DW skills. How is the each round in the recruitment concentrated towards? Resources for prep, other than what I have done. It would be great if a AMZ DE/BDE help. Please refrain any generic answers. #tech #career #amazon #dataengineer #dataengineerinterview

It really depends on the group. I interviewed with one group that had me write some Sql queries based on a specific case. I’ve had other teams give me a problem where I had to draw out what the data architecture would look like In most cases they wanted to see some basic python

I went through a round with a recruiter (high level skills and interests), second round was with hiring manager got a little more technical, but also was centered around management principles Third round they had me come up to HQ (Seattle) for a day of interviewing. From about 9:00 am - 4:00 pm was intense. Situational questions surrounding how you did something technically and relating it back to amazon leadership principles. There was also some white boarding data model, and white boarding pseudo code. Know your leadership principles.
