My current job profile is a Web Administrator with 4+ years of experience. I am transitioning into a new career path from IT Web Infrastructure and Middleware to Data Science. I am looking for jobs in San Francisco Bay Area. I started my job hunt from January by searching on LinkedIn, AngelList, Glassdoor and some miscellaneous websites. I have applied to entry level jobs using company's website, sending InMail on LinkedIn to recruiters and through email. Till now I have just been receiving rejections. Can anyone please let me know if this approach is right or is there any other way to at least get to a technical screen and then onto interviews. Any tips or tricks would really help. Insight of my skills on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/gizmofreak007/ Thanks #jobs #tech #jobhunt #career #datascience
The fact that you have a MS in CS and is a Web Admin doesn’t help at all. If you called yourself Web Master it would gain more credits with old school folks.
Thanks. I will add it onto my resume.
Have considered going the Data Engineer route?
I am specifically targeting Data Analyst, Data Scientist, MLE, Deep Learning Engineer, Computer Vision Engineer or NLP Engineer.
Those are 6 different roles. It might be in your best interest to focus on one to improve you likelihood of making the transition
