I gave data scientist product analytics interview recently. The interviewer who did applied data round was rushing throughout and abruptly ended the interview after 30 mins. I think she is not convinced with my answers. Sometimes she misunderstood my statements and had to explain. But the tech analysis, quantitative analysis and product interpretation went well (not extraordinary). Can I expect an offer?#facebook #fb #datascience
OP - have you heard back yet? I'm doing this interview soon and would love it if you'd be happy to talk about your experience. :)
I got a reject! Recruiter said you have a positive feedback from 3 rounds but not so good from 1 but recommended a set of other roles for me to consider.
These interviews are easy to crack. Just be calm and clear with your thoughts, though the interviewer may have different ways of asking simple question. Probability and SQL are very easy to clear if you are hands on sql everyday and know binomial distributions, geometric distributions and normal distributions. Product Interpretation is based on how smart you are and deep understanding of the product/feature they ask about. Watch the mock interview link that they sent multiple times so you get the feel better. Whatever you do for product interpretation, overlay your preparation on probability, Confidence intervals, significance testing on that to prepare for applied data!
Can you please tell me what you were asked about in the telephonic round?
Couple of data analysis questions based on tables. You can use R, python or sql. Joins, window functions, sub queries good enough to answer! And a behavioral question to test product sense. Could be any product and focusing on a specific feature of the product
