currently marketing coordinator doing lots of vlookups and Excel work. want to learn python for data analysis and just for fun ( code side projects). what's best way to learn? YouTube? codeacademy? buy a course at University? buy accelerated course at coding school? thanks!!! 😌
FreeCodeCamp
I was checking out one of their introductory classes on YouTube and it was great.
Any of those things. Also statistics classes. Additionally it sounds like you’ve got a LOT to learn with what you can do with Excel: Data Analysis toolkit, PowerPivot, PowerQuery, VBA, Solver, and more.
Thanks so much for that. Any place you'd recommend specifically that I can look into this?
I would look into various books about excel vba. Off the top of my head Bill Jelen is a popular author. The best way though is if your company had some well-designed macro enabled workbooks available then pick them apart to see how they work. PowerPivot/powerquery doesn’t have any really good material on it - I would look at the powerbi forum for help as it’s very similar. If you have to work with more than a million records in Excel these two things are a must. The record limit in PowerPivot is about 2 billion records/tables/columns.
