At my house, we have music unlimited and stream kiddy movies all day long on at least one but sometimes 2 or 3 tvs at once. I've disabled UHD content but I'm getting Comcast anxiety as I'm really close to reaching their monthly 1TB cap. They charge $10 per 50G after your first 1024Gb. I could cut back 90% of my usage if I could plug in an external Drive into my Fire TV's USB port and watch from the drive. But you only support drives that contain my own content, not yours. Can you please please support offloading your content to an external drive so I don't have to worry about Comcast as much? You already allow content download on fire tablets. Please add this to FireTV. Also: Fuck you Comcast, you shitty fuckers. Nobody's going to switch to your wireless phone service because you're a bunch of hated fucks. Rot in hell Comcast.
Comcast gets no tech hype but it's had the best execution among service providers. From hyped up dsl vs taken-for-granted cable to the slowdown in fiber deployments, Comcast has been rock steady with no infra failures. You could easily call this a deficiency in FireTV's feature set. And why are you watching the same things over and over again. An extra $10 for surpassing 1TB elicits this type of verbal flatulence... thank Comcast for playing nice with its stoned users.
if you consume enough bandwidth to reach 1Tb, you're basically going to pay $10 a day for the rest of your billing cycle. it is not cheap. The children watch the same disney movies over and over and over and over. That's what they do.
already the 26th and you're not really close to the limit. Not Comcast's fault your kids watch too much tv :) Get the bluray or save to dvr.
Why on earth do people still use comcast? It's terrible.
Alternatives = none. DSL you say? LOLOLOLOL
If you live in seattle: gig @home. It sf: sonic. If you live in sv: google. All fiber, all way faster than comcast, all 40 bucks a month. If you live somewhere else...why?
Content owners end up making most the stipulations not Amazon and they are paranoid of data on your devices.
yep, but amazon already allows downloading content to their tablets, including netflix content iirc. FireTv would be an easy feature add since they already support usb drives.
tablet -> TV. happy?
Get your kids to play outside. This much tv is going to make them tv idiots
Right? 2-3 TVs running at the same time for all the kids. WTF man. Do you even parent?
It's background distraction as they play legos or do whatever. If they want to see hiccup tame toothless for the 500th time, they can choose to by tilting their necks up a tad.
PlayOn. Record streaming video for playback anytime.
Yeah that sounds pretty good, except I really want the solution on the firetv. Amazon allows me to download content to PC and I can beam the pc to the screen, but it's a duct tape and zip tie solution.
ITT: virgins judging a parent
for realz!! lolol
I don't have tv at home and I have 2 kids 😂😂
no screens?
Nope.. we both love playing with our kids rather than raising them with screens
Same here. No screens.
I use that and love it. But it doesn't do it for FireTv, which is specifically what I need yall to get cracking on
