Stop pushing products in my face that require me to pay. Everytime I open YouTube, their YouTube TV ads take up my whole screen. So annoying. Why would I pay for TV? Is this 1996? Is Dish Network back in business? LinkedIn premium? Why would I use that when there's something called LinkedIn free? Hulu+? Get out. Spotify Premium? Absolutely not. UberEats Pass? No, no, and no. (Your existing delivery fees are absurd, no way I'm going to pay more than you already want) And the list goes on and on and on and on. Here's an idea: MAKE YOUR PRODUCT OFFERINGS FREE AND SUBSIDIZE WITH ADS. Oh wait. That's common sense and already what actual smart marketers and product managers are doing. Seriously, just stop. It's absurd to think you have a viable business model the second you ask people to pay for the product. Thanks in advance.
Lol what. I'd rather pay to use a product without having ads shoved into my face, creeping me out and slowing my devices. The reason why they moved to this paradigm is because people like me exist. As a PM, wouldn't you rather focus on providing value to your user than optimizing something orthogonal to your product offering?
Ads "creep" you out? lol.
I don’t think the data supports your claim. Subscription based models are profitable, and there are plenty of people willing to pay for premium offerings. Also, some of the services you mentioned (YouTube and Spotify) do subsidize with ads, which is why they have free versions that you deem acceptable enough to use
What im reading is you hate ads but you're too stingy to actually pay for the services you're using
So you’re upset that they show ads for their own stuff, and your solution is to show other ads? Good you’re not a PM
You still get ads though. And you still get your data sold. So now I’m paying, for ads. And to be spied on. The only thing keeping piracy at bay is convenience, and even that’s eroding away.
*in ad pops up for the product you’re on* You: STOP ADVERTISING ME W YOUR STUFF USE OTHER PEOPLES ADS!!!
Amazon prime? G T F O
People make tc 700k and rant about not paying a $10 sub? 🤷♂️ P.s.: I pay for spotify and is worth it
Yeah, spotify hella cheap. I pay it.
I have a family sub and split it amongst 5 friends tehee
I am happy to see an apple employee use Spotify instead of apple music
I would just like to applaud you for taking this brave position and speaking out
