Reddit engineers. I have been using Reddit regularly in an incognito tab to research a serious health issue so that I don't get ads about the health issue/medical/pharma products. Every single time I open an informative reddit thread from a survivor of the medical issue, I get "Reddit is better in the app!" Or "There are cats in the app!" So fucked up. Please let your teams know that people use Reddit for serious issues, not just LOL & cats. Also, please let people view NSFW threads without signing in... same reason, some medical threads include conversation about genitals or other NSFW stuff and then I can't even read them. TC: 300k
Why do you use Reddit for serious issues?
There is a large discussion board with 5000 members for a rare cancer that a family member of mine is going through.
I’m very sorry to hear that. I hope things get better. It might be worth checking to see if there is a FB group for that as well (I have seen some fb groups tailored to obscure medical conditions).
If you are not allowing reddit to get more users through app installation and retention, how can you expect reddit to keep providing you with informative threads? Sorry but this sounds like an entitled user. You are using a free app and you are begging for more perks?
I have an account that I use regularly (and allow ads) for non serious issues, but I think Reddit needs to be aware that their platform isn't just for revenue, it's a lifeline for people going through certain hardships and should be permitted incognito on some occasions.
I would also be happy to pay for an account that would allow me more privacy for this sort of thing, but that doesn't exist...
Use Apollo on iOS or Slide on Android. If you want to continue using a browser, use Brave with incognito as default and visit old.reddit.com layout. On laptop use old.reddit.com too. Bypasses NSFW checks. You can use an extension to make this redirect happen automatically.
This, my friend
Thank you! Great info
Watch genitals somewhere else bro
🙄 I hope you never get cancer near yours, but some people do, and they need info about treatment/results/experiences
Didn’t realize it was a thing there. My bad, and hope you get better! ❤️

Why don’t you use the app with an alternate account?
Use incognito mode in the Reddit app. It’s literally made for situations like this.
Isn’t premium for removing ads? Other options r adblockers or pihole?
Other folks have made good suggestions here, but I'll add that you can change the mobile site's settings to not ask you to get the app. It uses a cookie so it won't work in incognito (unless you never close the tab?), but should work otherwise.

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Its outside an engineers pay band to drive that decision. Back to your JIRA tickets now. 🤡
