Decide what’s more fucked up

On October 7, Hamas attacked Israel and killed 1,139 people, including 764 civilians and 373 Israeli security personnel. A further 252 persons were taken hostage. In retaliation, Israel has killed 32,552 Palestinians in Gaza since Oct. 7. Let that sink in.

Flexport CQSL38 May 8

It’s okay, we will send money and weapons to Israel until they can wipe out Gaza. Also make it a law that forbids US citizens from criticizing Israeli government. Oh and lastly let’s ban TikTok so American people can’t see all the dead bodies laying around in Gaza. Damn we good ☺️

NVIDIA bluegene13 May 8

You can agree that both are fucked up. It’s not a competition. You can agree that Israel has the right to fight back but it has been indiscriminately killed civilians and it needs to stop. I mean 3k people died on 9/11 and as a result we killed tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians.

Meta tuntut OP May 8

Both are equally fucked up. It is a shame for humanity that we do this to each other.

Ethos Hqb1ds May 9

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and US killed much more than tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians. But since only white lives matter, killing lots of people of color for no reason is not a big deal, according to the US government, media and people.

Stripe prowskibar May 8

1,139 Hamas leadership could step up and standing In front of firing squad to protect their civilians.

Meta tuntut OP May 8

Lol, since when did terrorists became courageous? They are the cowardly scum and is definitely hiding behind the civilians.

Credit Karma ird61064 May 8

So which is it? Hamas cowards hid behind women and children, or Israel targeted those women and children?

AMD alpha.93 May 8

The right fucking response ❤️❤️ next time Hamas will think twice Wish India did the same with Pakistan after 26-11

Stripe prowskibar May 8

No they won’t. Civilian deaths are a recruitment tool for more brain dead jihadis

Meta tuntut OP May 8

^ - this feeds to the cycle.

You have no idea what Muslims can do to the world.

Meta tuntut OP May 8

Oh I know! But I can’t become one which I abhor most.

DocuSign prodLaunch May 8

Islam is most peaceful and most growing religion, it is superior than any other religion

Meta tuntut OP May 8

While I agree on principle what Hamas did was a cowardly terrorist act and needs to be punished but retaliation which is like 30x dwarfs the balance. From an Israeli perspective they believe they are doing the right thing I guess.

LinkedIn bjornberg May 8

It is way easier to understand Hamas position than zionists. I saw a video once where ex navy seal said what he would do if he is in palestinian shoe. He speaks the truth. He said he will defend their land no matter what it takes. And I can see where he is coming from. I am not saying I agree but at least I can understand his position. Zionist on the other hand is a cult that need to be banned. These are people who think they are superior than others, very entitled and dense. They dont think palestinians life are equal to them

Microsoft sshole May 9

Wtf are you talking about? IDF is doing what it must do to protect its people (no matter the numbers). That is literally their job. Hamas, otoh, leverages the lives of their people just to try and inflict random carnage on their self proclaimed Israeli enemies.

Bloomberg carbonrust May 8

The attack was incredibly stupid and horrible but this retaliation really just feels like an excuse to finalize the genocide they've been trying to do forever. One side has been oppressing for a very long time and been targeting innocents far longer and more drastically, so what does that make them.

Meta tuntut OP May 8

The western world does not bat an eyelid to what has been happening for decades. The retaliation demonstrates that the Israelis are really becoming masters of ethnic cleansing, something which they should hate. Completely disproportionate response.

Indeed swetr May 8

Both are fucked up. Doesn't need to be a pissing match. Hamas has, over the last twenty or so years, fired tens of thousands of rockets at Israel - Oct 7 had 5000+. This is counterproductive to achieving peace. Again, I'm not trying to say that that's as bad as the atrocities in the current war, but ignoring it is kinda skewing the story. In the same time period, Israel has kept Gaza under siege, through military actions, blockades, and so on. Ignoring that also skews the story. I believe Israel has the capacity to pursue peace, and, if they chose to, may be able to achieve it. I think they must take that course of action, because there's no other way out. I believe Israel, supporting illegal settlements in the West Bank, is actively engaged in a slow burn of ethnic cleansing. I don't believe that reducing it to 1139 vs 32552 is anywhere close to a useful view of the situation there.

There is another way out. Keep it going for another 2 years with no food. 99% of Palestinians .. I mean Hamas will be gone.

Meta tuntut OP May 8

Well context is important, and for engineers numbers help to analyze the impact.

Amazon tri8Ta May 8

We are special. Israel is always right. Have you condemned Hamas yet? If you disagree, you are an antisemitic terrorist lover.

Meta tuntut OP May 8

Lol, this is so true, fucking drives me mad! Like if I disagree immediately am an anti-semitic. I have to support mass cleansing not to be anti-semite. I have no love for islamic terrorism and am okay with them being wiped out. However, when it comes to civilians I completely disagree.

Amazon tri8Ta May 8

exactly victim mentality and bias without common sense

Red Hat ofxts May 8

Nearly everyone commenting on this from outside the foreign policy sphere has no fucking clue what they are talking about

Meta tuntut OP May 8

Why don’t you enlighten us rather than criticizing?

Red Hat ofxts May 8

The situation in the Middle East has been going on for millennia. I couldn’t possibly claim to have all of the intricate details.
