I have already accepted an offer from a bank for a platform Engineering role with Java tech stack. I recently received an offer from a networking company for a Jr. DotNet dev position which is paying me 13% more but it has a 2 years service bond that I had to sign. Despite the TC raise, I’m not at all interested in this role given the tech stack so I declined the offer giving that bond policy as a reason. Now the recruiter is saying they will exempt me from the bond policy and forcing me to accept the offer. How can I decline without burning the bridge? Please burn bridges with any company that makes you sign bonds in this day and age. Plenty of better companies available that don’t have any bonds.
True that, will accept for now and renege on the very last moment :)
Don’t do that. It’s a small world. Just decline as politely as you can. Say that you want to pursue another opportunity. People decline offers all the time. It’s not a big deal.
