Serious question. Do people really care that advertisers know what you like and target you based on your online activity? Every tech company logs data about users and uses that information to make money. What are even people’s expectations of privacy? (I certainly don’t have any, so this Facebook “scandal” doesn’t bother me at all)
Google and Amazon know way more than FB does. Arguably Apple has your whole social graph. All 3 of them have every single photo you’ve taken in the last 5-10 years. The media is just looking for blood and people want a scapegoat for Trump.
The “Russia Investigation” started getting boring for people so they turned to Facebook to blame for trump next
I really don’t care abt privacy and think it’s blown out of proportion. Having said that, I would not like a useless thing like Facebook to be sharing any of my data. For me it’s more like , it’s ok if google does it because it gives me something valuable.
Scapegoat for trump? Wowww. Out of touch and how much kool aid are you drinking? It’s clear that FB manipulated and flat out lied about what they store with android users; we all know it’s free for a reason and everything is being sold to marketers but flat out lying is just a big “peace out” and Zuckerberg has made it too easy to dislike him. Anyone with a brain can see through his “white liiiiiies” cue grandmaster flash.
It's naive to think that if this Cambridge Analytica outfit had done anything other than assist Trump it would not be considered a big deal.
Honest question: what does it matter that your texts or other info is harvested from Facebook? Do you also care that the NSA “spies” on people too? Surveillance is one thing and storing your data is another, but neither of these things affect my day to day or keep me up at night.
How is this scapegoating? https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/apr/03/revealed-facebook-hate-speech-exploded-in-myanmar-during-rohingya-crisis
Too bad you fell for media’s traps. Good luck living in media’s narrative instead. I’m sure they’ll feed you all the facts you need and live happily ever after 😀
Right when things are positive about facebook it’s true; when it’s negative it’s false. Have fun in your bubble!
It's the media who are evil, no way would my companies execs who are so up their ass that they terrorism is ok as long as they continue to connect ppl or whatever shit
Facts: In a recent report on the Rohingya crisis, Marzuki Darusman, head of the United Nations Fact-Finding Mission on Myanmar, said Facebook “substantively contributed to the level of acrimony and dissension and conflict” in Myanmar. “Hate speech is certainly of course a part of that,” Darusman said. “As far as the Myanmar situation is concerned, social media is Facebook, and Facebook is social media.” https://www.vox.com/2018/4/2/17183836/mark-zuckerberg-facebook-myanmar-rohingya-ethnic-cleansing-genocide
“Privacy is increasingly a selling point for technology users, but for social media companies, data abuses are a feature, not a bug.” This makes me really sick! Facebook Data Scandal Has Left Zuckerberg Isolated in Big Tech https://a.msn.com/r/2/AAvocMR
Omg you quoted someone’s opinion! Must be fact! 🤣 No wonder why Trump got elected.
Not all quotes are fact. It only means that the words are from the mouth of someone else. If you believe that all quotes are facts, then there is no doubt why Facebook has so many fake news!
I unliked 98% of pages, deleted unnessasary apps, and unfollowed everyone except my favs... much better.
Aren’t you special?
Low blow
I don’t know if it’s a millennial thing but why do people feel like they have to announce this? If you hate FB, fine delete your account. Or if you want to stay, then stay. But why does it have to be announced to the world like you climbed Everest? So someone’s little ego can be massaged by random people on the internet?
