Dependent eligibility verification

Juniper has asked every employee to verify their dependents insurance eligibility. It’s a huge pain in the ass and a bit invasive. Have things gotten that bad? Trying to save a few bucks by finding a few bad apples? I’ve been in tech since ‘93 and have never had to produce a marriage certificate and other proof my children are mine. I think we produced the birth certs for kids when we added them to the policy. WTF. I have all the docs but it just irks me anyway to have to prove I’m an honest person to my employer.

It's just fair. Would u not like.to weed out the dishonest ones whose expenses cause the total premium to go up, thus increasing ur share if premium. It's no worse than someone checking ur driving license. To ensure people not fit to drive are not driving.

I get what you’re saying. I just don’t believe it’s going to make a difference on my premiums. They’ll go up no matter what. I’m willing to bet the “savings” won’t be passed down , or even be that much proportionally. I’m not anti big corps per se but insurance companies and utilities are not high on my trustworthy list.

But why should they pass it to you (an employee) and not me (a shareholder)?

It's a sign that the company is circling down the drain

Other companies do dependent verification too. Why r u being so fussy abt it ?

He’s irked. Because he’s (totally) honest. And we just don’t take his word for it, duh!

This isn’t a Juniper requirement, but an insurance carrier requirement. Juniper doesn’t want to do this any more than you do.

I agree it's a pain but I don't think it's juniper as much as it's the insurance company. Like JDI said
