Design document
How important is writing design documents at higher levels in other companies? Google seems to place an outsized importance on them especially at levels higher than 5. Curious to hear how important it is elsewhere.

Amazon thinks design documents are very important. And upper levels think they are important too, they come and attend meetings where the thing being designed would be involved with what their team works with
