I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Would you leave IBM for VMWare for a slight bump? Even if everything was good at IBM?#design #interviews #ui/ux TC at IBM: 165,400 base TQP incentive structure = eligible for 29k incentives RSU 38,400 Negotiating starting point VMWare: 160 Annual bonus: 20% RSU: 75,400
Lol heck no
What...that bad?
If I were you, I’d pick VMware. You’d rot at IBM as a designer
Are designers rotting away at IBM? How so? I’ve only been with the company a year
In my experience, IBM has a really strong design community and managers really promote personal learning / growth … could differ by experience though
What's a TQP incentive? And IBM gives out RSUs to new hires? 38400*4 years?
It’s a sales incentive. Yep I got one less than 1 year in. The total RSU can be taken at year 4. Golden handcuffs
Why are you looking to leave? Clearly money here won’t make a difference
Curiosity about design challenges in other enterprise settings for cloud and ai — as well as considering being in sales at IBM as being not so stable long term.
Interesting. Are you currently a designer in a sales org or a member of sales at IBM. Either ways I think the challenges and problems to solve at IBM and VMWare might be quite similiar. Also at VMware it depends on which BU and product
No
Not happy at VM?
I am happy at vm but for you just for small jump in tc does not make sense
