Arrest and H1b visa stamping

I was arrested for speeding and case is still pending in court. Would it be advisable to go for H1b visa stamping while the case is pending? Any experience’s as such? Would like to DM ppl with experience on how to deal with it. #workvisa #h1b #rfe

>arrested for speeding How fast were you going?!

Amazon speedytrap OP Oct 10, 2023

30 over in 70 zone.

If you got tagged doing only 100 you don't have the driving skills to speed and therefore deserve it

Why did you get arrested for speeding? Why not just a ticket?

Amazon speedytrap OP Oct 10, 2023

In a different state

What state?

You had one job, to not break the law, how can you get arrested by speeding? How many miles over? You shouldn’t leave the country, maybe never until you get GC or your record is expunged.

30

But why, dude? 100 in a 70 is not good.

Amazon luvkanye Oct 10, 2023

By arrested do you mean you were handcuffed and detained? If yes, get a lawyer immediately and get that record expunged.

Amazon speedytrap OP Oct 10, 2023

Yes

Expungement doesn't mean shit for immigration.

Usually happens if you are at reckless speed like over 100 or so and don’t cooperate with law enforcement.

I would avoid traveling while case is pending.

You can always come back via Mexico. Relax, just go for it!

Consult with your employer attorney.

Have you filled DS160? I think You have to mention arrests there, if still valid

Amazon speedytrap OP Oct 10, 2023

I noticed that there’s a question on DS-160 regarding that.
