I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
I left PayPal and took the first offer I received that had a higher TC however Im still looking for other roles out there but Im curious if this is hurting my chances because Im there for less than a year and I do have it listed on my resume. Should I just remove the current role on my resume and keep PayPal still on? Im not sure if a startup on my resume is hurting my chances at working somewhere larger like the Meta, Snowflakes, etc. of the world. Previous - 210k TC - 350k
Why would startup experience hurt? Would be better than PayPal if anything.
Well these larger companies care about prestige. I mean meta for example would give a candidate an interview if they were coming from PayPal than some no named startup. Thats just the reality of it from recruiter
You probably need to have a name somewhere but it doesn’t mean a big employer. If you come from a good school, a startup on your resume is probably better to have than PayPal for example - from a pure name value.
Why are you still looking? Just stay for a year
Because im uncovering truths about the company that were not disclosed to me. Company evaluation, roadmap/strategy, and other things
What exactly were disclosed and what/how are you finding it now? No need to name the startup.
Your tc increased? What else do you need
Well for the same role elsewhere I can get a TC double that. PM with 10 YoE
350*2=700k?
Yoe?
If less than 6 months, leave it off, if more, keep it on
If the title is better should i still keep it off?
how can someone just leave the latest exp, I mean if selected, you have to submit the proofs, right? understand the possibility of saying not working...
