Did Uber get hacked?
Heard some rumors that Uber got hacked and had a data breach. Source code from some of their monorepos, confluence and secrets were stolen. I saw a screenshot from their internal slack but could’ve been faked. Can anyone confirm?
You could google this. They've had multiple breaches and tried to cover up at least one of them
I tried googling to see if anyone had posted about this one and only saw about the previous ones, so wasn't sure if the screenshot I saw was from an older one. Hence this post

My friend told me their Slack got infiltrated and they just deleted the entire workspace lmao Edit: to clarify I was told someone was blasting messages saying uber underpays their drivers and then someone responded asking them to stop and then the hacker or whatever just posted the guy's password. IT quickly responded but my friend just said the Slack workplace is taken down right now. He isn't very technical so it's hard to get info on how limited the breach was
The screenshot I saw had the hashtag #uberunderpaisdrives (yes it was misspelled) so kind of confirms what I saw. Though how the heck did they know that person's password? Does slack store their passwords in plaintext or something?
I got a little more info. On one of the welcome channels they posted a screenshot of the guys password from the HR system and then said he is changing it to the n word. I think people thought the Uber underpays drivers thing was some weird joke and then it only got serious when he posted a screenshot of the HR system. Again my friend isn't technical and he is stupid and didn't even take a picture so I'm not 100% sure if it was the HR system or something else
