Did make a bad choice?
Got offers from Amazon (seattle) and Adobe (Austin) as SDE. I have 3 yoe, 28, no FAANG on resume and not married yet. Joined Amazon two months back thinking to ramp up my career by joining and grow to level of senior in short time (atleast in terms of knowledge/confidence wise maybe title). But on a work day I rarely get time, plenty of work and learning is there. However since I am planning to get married in next one year I feel like I might not get much time to spend time with my future partner and go on romantic trips with free of mind. This is really bothering me :( . I could have done above if I have joined adobe and may be work for company like Amazon after one/two years into marriage. I feel very low now. On H1 and looking to get perm done have to stay in Amz until perm is done TC: 200K

But he's in the middle of pivoting career and has done masters in a foreign land.. shouldn't he get more time for settlement? For his situation I think it's pretty early. Never saw people getting married off so early with his profile. Otherwise good age tho
I used to work at Adobe. You dodged a bullet by rejecting the Austin office. That office is the Magento aka “Adobe Commerce” product. It’s a dying part of the company, very toxic because it was an acquired product, and Adobe execs don’t prioritize it.
No I am not from that team. My offer was from consulting org for AEP product data integration and they asked to choose office from bunch of locations like utah, boston etc I took Austin. Didn’t opt because of consulting nature of job
Yea still, AEP consulting is not good at all. Very poor engineering culture, mountains of tech debt, re-orgs, struggling leadership, etc The only good spots in Adobe are in the Creative Cloud and Document Cloud products
