My work is a drag. It’s a sub-tier team of a sub-tier team. Nobody is interested in what we do. There’s no team culture. Nobody wants to participate in the hackathon. At the same time I’ve been interviewing at other companies, including Google, Meta, DoorDash, Coinbase. Reddit, Square, and others. I really just want to quit because I can’t take it anymore. Should I just pull the trigger and reduce my stress? I don’t need the money and I’m very sure I’ll get an offer somewhere else within the next month or two with like a 30% increase in TC. Have you ever quit to interview full time? TC: $185k Yoe: 3.5
It's a marathon, not a sprint. Take your time interviewing. Having a job gives you leverage during negotiations. Do the minimum at your current job so you don't get pipped
Don’t quit your job physically or mentally until you find another one. If you quit, you’re disqualified for unemployment
I’m in same situation except I need the money, married, and with a child. I would’ve quitted last week if I was single.

I did. Turned down some offers before a long and stressful streak of rejections. Have partial regrets but do not know how I would’ve interviewed while working full time.
Yes, at least make sure u pass the initial coding screens before u quit. There's no motivation for getting an offer like not having a job.
Which team at Amazon?
I say go for it. Don’t ever think I’ll go from job to job without taking a break. If I voluntarily leave. I planned and have savings for the period. I actually left first job out of college after 3.5 years. Took almost one year off to work on my interests, visited family etc. Recently joined square. Plan to write a blind post on my experiences later on if people are interested.
How did you explain the gap in your resume? Didn't they ask what you did, why you quit?
I was transparent with every recruiter and interviewers no one said anything. Some didn’t ask. I liked my team at previous company but wanted to explore more and wanted to take some time off to see family and work on some of my hobbies.
Are you single? If yes, then why not?
