Why I Find Free Palestine Inspiring
How different is FB and oculus culturally?? Compensation?? Interview process??
Agree they had some serious issues with their interview process but the culture has been shifting rapidly and they're definitely aware this is a problem and working to correct. I moved from FB to Oculus and still went through interview process and think in some ways Oculus process was easier, but not sure if that's because I was internal. The comp is equivalent to FB as levels/ladders are the same. There has been a massive overhaul of leadership in last few months and I think it's for the best for the company and culture but those who have been there since the beginning likely don't see it that way so there is tension. Personally I liked the vibe at oculus now better than rest of FB (and fwiw I'm not a gamer). Though I do think oculus is getting more assimilated so not sure how long the differences will last.
Cannot say it better, massive +1 to all the points but the comparison with FB interview (I didn't do that)
What was your interview like? Pm or ENG?
Is it worth trying for oculus for systems/embedded???
Oculus FTW
Can I interview with both oculus and Facebook?
Oculus were very arrogant in their interview process, and never replied back after the loop. Seems a very Valve like culture too in the Redmond studio. Can't comment on FB, but wouldn't recommend applying to Oculus unless you like being treated like dirt.
