Hi all. I have a question here but before that, a shoutout to this very supportive community for referring some of us to the open opportunities in their orgs. I know anonymity has its challenges, but barring a handful of curve balls, I’ve had an amazing experience here 🙏 So gratitude to all the kindred spirits! Re question: Here at Google, when you refer someone for an open position, it lands in their email as an opportunity to apply to any three positions within 30 days. I’m curious about how this is different from some of the other organizations out there. For instance in case of FB, the referral means the resume is submitted for one position only? There are times when the referral is just via LinkedIn and email ... how does this work? I’m curious to learn a bit more about the process. Does the recruitment dept. reach out and ask for a resume after it determines one’s eligibility? Sorry if these seem like very layman questions but I’m not able to understand this. And I also wonder how other FAANGs and SV orgs approach this.
