I was coming back from India last week. Apart from seeing I-797 and stamp on visa, I was asked to show my active bank account showing a salary deposit from Doordash. I found it interesting. What other ways have you seen immigration do to verify you are still employed. #layoff
It happened to me and to couple of my other friends too.
I always carry the employment letter and latest pay stubs. I was asked paystubs once
Maybe they are trying to filter out folks who have lost jobs recently 🤔
Yeah they watch the news
Smart officer 👮♀️ in case if he really did this after knowing layoffs , and think people could circumvent or sneak through meanwhile
They call the employer.
This has never happened with me. I always carry my employment verification letter with me when I am traveling internationally. That’s all they care about.
Wow, this is horrible. Thanks for the post.
Checking to see if you are still employed and not gaming the system. Makes sense to me
Making sure system is not abused .
I've been instructed by my lawyer to carry latest paystubs to prove you are still employed. I guess if you have email on your phone, that should work too
Sneaky
Not sneaky - clever!
