I am looking into a couple of positions at Mercari, Sony, IBM... in japan and other tech companies there. They're all english speaking positions within teams that are relatively international so the applicant numbers go up super fast. I am still doing my Master's but I am looking for new grad / intern positions, I am currently writing a paper with a previous company after doing research there but it will take some time to ginish, I really want this on my resume to boost my chances, but it will take some time. Is it bad if you are among the last applicants? Is it worth it waiting to finish the paper and practice leetcode or should I just apply fast, quickly mention that my research led to writing a paper that the company wishes to publish in international conference without even having the real thing yet on arxiv and cram leetcode?? I don't know how much timing and applicant pool can affect my success. Thanks! #tech #mercari #sony #ibm #application #resume #interview

Apply early. You’ll get more practice interviewing. Being able to answer questions on the spot while being personable takes practice. Better to start as soon as you can.
