Discover Financial Services says 16 weeks for primary caregiver and 2 weeks for secondary caregiver. Any fathers have experience with if they could claim primary, or are they automatically considered secondary? Wife works for different company and will be given a couple months for maternity leave. #paternityleave #discover #parenting #parentalleave

I took paternity leave at discover as a new dad. You can claim primary, the only thing you do is sign an affidavit. Whether you want to lie on that is up to you.

Yes once your wife starts working you can take the 16 week paternity. Very good benefit for dad as he gets equal leave as the mom.
Not at discover, But a Father can claim to be primary if mother is working Assuming your wife is working, After your wife’s maternity is over and she has to join back, you can take 16 weeks at that time Definitely doable if your manager is supportive
Ah, thanks, that is a great idea to take my 16 weeks as primary after her maternity is up. I wonder if I could take unpaid (FMLA) during her maternity and then do the 16 weeks paid after that...
Not sure if you can take unpaid before paid You should check with your HR and manager Lot of it depends on the manager
