Hey Folks, anyone care to shed some light on how the ad-tech space in Disney is for SWE in terms of - pay - wlb - growth - rto - perks I hate my job right now so want out. From whatever reviews I read it was not clear about the ad tech space so would appreciate the help! $240K/9YOE
I’m a SWE for streaming. P4. 8 YOE. I’m going to tell you my numbers. Pay - I make 165 base. This is average for this level based on internal surveying some ICs did. Bonus and RSUs at P4 are significantly lower than P5. 15% bonus, 8% RSU. P5 I believe is 25% bonus, 20% RSU. My TC IS 220ish but Disney stock is in the fucking toilet right now and I don’t see it increasing. WLB - Excellent Growth - Non-existent except to a select few who are politically motivated. Promos have been frozen for over a year. RTO - Much of streaming is remote first but RTO pressure is mounting. Perks - Free Disneyland, that’s about it That said: The culture is fucking atrocious. I’d stay away if I were you. I’m looking to get out.
Nailed it, although there are some folks making more (RSU at least) in Aaron’s org, I’ve heard 40% RSU, but again, that’s Monopoly money so it’s not really worth counting unless you plan on staying forever and hoping you never get axed
Location?
Uhhh everything is good beside the comp. I’m p4 with 20% bonus 45% RSU and 181k base.
Location?
US
What is P4? Like Senior engineer?
more like senior software engineer 2 because its one level above senior software engineer The exact title depends on org but its usually either Lead Software Engineer or Staff Software Engineer
Great WLB unless you’re really inefficient or bad at setting boundaries. Comp is heavily tilted towards RSU’s with low base salary and meh cash bonus. Perks? Maybe if you live in Orlando or LA and really like going to parks. Otherwise works and benefits suck ass. Growth? Lol.
