Disney and its affiliates (eg ABC, ILM, etc) have been posting plenty of jobs over the last few months. I interviewed a while ago for a Disney job but have been essentially kept on hold for two months, saying thay they’re unsure about the role but I think there might be more to it. Does anyone know if there’s an official hiring freeze there? It’s a tactic for saving money that they’ve done plenty of in the past.
There was a freeze but teams are resuming interviews right now Probably follow up with the recruiter if you’re still interested. Unless the position is for parks and resorts division at least
The recruiter is the one who’s been following up with me every few weeks and sending apology emails for the delay (also says they’re figuring out some details about the position/location still?). It’s under Lucasfilm rather than Disney proper.
I was just hired in media distribution after interviewing in July.
Where did you move from?
Were you able to negotiate the salary you wanted and is it about the same as pre-covid salary or lower?
Freeze but hiring where there is a gap. Needs a higher approval then before. Streaming is where most of the hiring is at.

Freeze
Ugh damn that’s what I figured. Any idea how long? Their Q3 report just came out and had a very slight profit.
Actually their revenue got a big hit. But as usual Stonks are flying high. I highly doubt they will open hiring anytime soon
