I'm a L6, PM at Google, managing a few direct reports, on my way to L7. I was approached by Disney for the role in the title in their ads business, but struggled to figure out the leveling around it. It's a people manager role, but doesn't sound senior. Should I aim for Director level or Sr. Manager, given my current level/experience? L6 Google PM YOE 15 TC 420
I would watch out. I had a coworker who took on a senior PM role at Disney. Real smart guy fixed multiple underlying issues in the PM office in mere months, but they let him go due to "budget reasons". Disney then proceeded to hire an intern. Similar issues have been raised publicly on Disney's unofficial contracting practice, where they hire a full-timer, milk out their expertise, and let them go for a cheaper laborer.
Not part of that org, so can't speak with certainty. But even at VP level, I don't think you get to your current TC
I’m guessing it’s the lowest of the manager level which is called M2. M2 is equal to P4 (Staff Engineer). P1 is associate engineer. P2 is mid level. P3 is senior engineer. P stands for Professional. There exists M3 which is Senior Manager I think. Director is E1 in the past but it may be E1X now that they have Associate Director level (below Director). E stands for Executive.
Adding to this. There is an M1 title, Supervisor. As well as P5 (Principal). I'm guessing Innocuous is right and this position is M2
Don’t bother coming here. You’re downleveling and this place is a shitshow. I can’t recommend Disney as an employer.
Agree. I’m doing a slow death...
You would be taking a lateral move from Google...the next level is Sr. Manager. Your TC is very high. You are good where you are - don’t bother
It’s not an exec level position but you might manage some people.
if you are coming to Disney, def shoot for the highest title possible. there aren't really levels here but if it sounds higher, you can claim its l7 or whatever when you move back to a tech company. also there's no way disney is going to match your tc - that's what svps get paid
They can’t afford or beat your TC, move on.
Disney is too cheap - don’t bother at all. Just accepted an offer with another co. paying me 71% increase in total comp

I’m not sure about this role in particular, but I will say the Disney notoriously under-levels. I agree it doesn’t sound senior. You could as who the role reports to and see what the chain is!
