I received a P4 offer from Disney (DMED) Base 173k 20% target bonus LTI 45% RSU 275k over 3y Sign-on 75k YOE 6 Coding questions were LC easy. Other technical interviews were harder. Current TC @ wonky startup: 235k cash (500k including paper money) Edit: ran the numbers again Edit 2: new numbers - thanks for y’all input, I got a >45% increase on the sign on package Edit 3: interviews #software #engineering #disney
Dmed or dpep?
Dmed
Pretty high for Disney from what I know they don’t pay swe as much as others
What is with this RSU? 😂 New people got it good! Which doesn’t really make sense because you contribute minimal value when you’re new. Does that refresh too? Or it’s just a sign on incentive? I’m a P3 older timer in LA and you would be making way more than me. I have to leave. I’d take it if your current job is all you got. Dmed is big so you might be doing something interesting or you might not. But congrats at 6 yoe, usually I see job postings requiring more. Edit: to answer can you ask for more. Not sure I am a newly promoted p3 at 157 base (which is low for p3) so you’re definitely in p4 range.
He's probably walking away from RSUs on the table at his current company. Usually a stagnation comp practice to make them whole.
This is just the sign on cash + RSU. Refreshers (LTI) are 45% of the base. Thanks for answering 😁 (and idk your yoe but yes, you can find more than 157 base in LA if you’re >6yoe) And yes, leaving some of my paper money RSUs on the table…
How is LTI part of 1st year compensation? They are refreshers for the following years, aren’t they?
Right I removed it. LTI = RSUs refrshers
You can definitely increase more on sign on bonus and RSU. Also I don’t think LTI is included for your first year
Good to know. Do you know if they give RSU refreshers?
They do. Target is 45% of base for P4 engineer.
Congrats on the lead offer! You can ask for a bit more. Top of band base is ~180, RSUs and sign on can be negotiated up a bit.
Thanks! Trying to have competing offers to get more RSUs. Also, I may targeting P5 in few years :)
Got more Sign on & RSUs :) the recruiter said they are waiting for my other offers (like they’d go higher?!)
How do you know LTI is 45%?
It’s part of the package - recruiter told me
Did they mention in offer letter too? Is this applicable for every year?
I think target bonus for lead role is 25%. Base and sign on could be higher. But the market isn’t hot like before. So, I am not sure.
They said I could have higher numbers if I relocated to the Bay Area
Bonus target for lead is fixed at 20%
